African American History
At Imani, our children learn who they are as people of African American heritage and who they are as children of God. Studying the past helps us understand the present. Rather than being limited to one month of the year, students experience an inclusive, holistic view of American history—one that celebrates the vital roles and countless contributions that people of color have made in shaping our nation.
“There is no more powerful force than a people steeped in their history. And there is no higher cause than honoring our struggle and ancestors by remembering.”
— Lonnie Bunch
