The Imani School

A night of laughter. A night of tears. A night of soft jazz. A night in which the cup of creative expression overflowed. 

Parents, visitors and art connoisseurs alike, soaked in the soothing sounds, stellar sights and stimulating speeches recited by Imani's distinguished scholars. The audience was treated to a full array of the oratorical gifts our students possess. From delivering original speeches and literary works to powerful dramatizations of the Bible, students from kindergarten through 8th grade displayed the skills acquired from their enrollment and participation in Mrs. L. Wilson's speech class while middle school students demonstrated their writing talents honed in Mrs. C. Williams' literature class. Ms.Warren's art students displayed their award-winning art work while The Imani Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Leon Mitchison, provided the musicial ambiance for the event.

"An Evening with The Arts" is a convergence of Imani's Fine Arts programs from the academic disciplines of speech, literature, music and art. Each child at The Imani School is exposed to a superb Fine Arts education beginning in elementary and continuing into middle school. Instructors Ms. Warren, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Wilson and Jazz Ensemble director and musician Mr. Mitchison worked with students throughout the school year to cultivate our students' talents. On April 22, instructors and Head of School Mrs. Patricia Hogan Williams proudly displayed those talents on center stage.
