Hard at Work!
Students and teachers are working diligently each morning to develop the skills elementary and middle school students need to pursue advanced courses in high school such as Calculus, Physics and AP/Honors English Literature.
Did you know Imani is one of 12 schools in the nation privileged to use the Kumon math curriculum? At a Kumon Learning Center, enrollment fees are $115 per month* per subject compared to Imani's $100 annual fee. Not to mention, Imani was selected to pilot the cutting-edge math program Reasoning Mind, which has yielded quantifiable results in improving students' ability to do mental math and induce Algebra readiness. It costs $70** per child to bring a session of Web-based Reasoning Mind curriculum to students. Imani students receive the benefit of this highly sought after program for free.
And, although the mornings are busy at Imani, we still work hard in the afternoon. Students can take advantage of the Learning RX program that specializes in cognitive training. The program consists of computer-based exercises that develop quicker cognitive processing and problem solving in addition to boosting visual and auditory memory - which increases children's attention spans and, thus, their ability to listen during classroom instruction. Lessons at a private Learning RX center costs approximately $12,000; at Imani, we offer the program at no cost.
