2nd grade helps less fortunate have a "happy" holiday!
Second graders at The Imani School donated toys to the DePelchin Children's Center before winter break in hopes of making the holidays merrier for less fortunate children.
The DePelchin Children's Center provides comprehensive social and mental health services for children including: adoption, foster care, counseling, housing and teen parenting and transitional living. DePelchin also provides services to prevent teen pregnancy, reuniting birth parents with their children and post-adoption services.

DePelchin, a United Way agency, is home to many children who don't have families to visit or enjoy during the holiday season. Consequently, the gifts donated by our Imani pupils not only taught our "Angels" the true meaning of "it's better to give than receive", but also definitely impacted the lives of those kids.
Thank you to parent volunteers, Mr. Williams, Mrs. Howard, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Thierry as well as Imani faculty Mrs. K. Willis, Ms. Moore, Ms. Mosely and Ms. Warren for chaperoning students on the field experience. The outing and donation drive was the brainchild of Imani 2nd grade teacher Ms. Krista Harris. Bravo Ms. Harris and the Imani 2nd Grade!
