Disney Comes to Imani
Imagine the scene.
Mermaids, warriors, space travelers from light years away, muscle men and even a few cowboys all packed The Imani School cafeteria for a celebration that can only be explained as fantasy personified.
Darting back and forth, our little Disney darlings enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon courtesy of the Jr. Beta Club sponsored celebration.
On Thursday, Oct. 29, students participating in the activity in grades Pre-K-1 dressed as their favorite Disney character. Then at 1 p.m. they were escorted to the cafeteria where they enjoyed music, refreshments and good-natured fun.
The event only cost $5 while helping raise funds for the Jr. Beta Club and its many academic and social endeavors. Our Beta Club competes in statewide and national competitions in areas such as Spelling Bee, Oration, Group Talent and much more.
Our Beta students bring back numerous victories from these competitions including eighth grade Taylor Mitchell's 1st place finish in the speech competition at the Jr. Beta Club's National Convention in Orlando, FL last summer. Thanks to Ms. Y. Smith, Ms. S. Clay, Mrs. Parks, Mrs. Melba Mitchell, Mrs. Sonnier, Ms. Armstrong, Mrs. Garner, Ms. Courtney, Ms. Danielle Thomas and the Jr. Beta Club.
