Tennis Team Swings into New Fall Season
Changes of GRAND proportion have been made to the tennis program at The Imani School.
New for the 2009-10 school year, the tennis program is officially sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Our pupils will play in the USTA's National Junior Conference. The first matches are on Saturday, Sept. 26 against the Sienna Stompers at Club Sienna in Sienna Plantation.
Led by Coach Twymon, the tennis team will play against some of Houston's top tennis teams.
"(Playing in) USTA is just taking tennis to the next level," Coach "T" said. "We were district champs last year. Also, it will give our students exposure to private schools in the area to increase students' chance of getting a scholarship."
In the spring, the tennis program will hold tryouts again and resume ACSI conference play.
