Green Team Honored by City of Houston
Houston City Council Member Wanda Adams Honors Imani's Own Green Team
The City of Houston and Council Member Wanda Adams honored the members of Imani's Green Team at a school assembly.
While teaching students the virtues of recycling, a representative from the City of Houston's Solid Waste Management Department along with the city's "Green" mascot Reusette Wisely honored Green Team members: Julian Pasley; Samuel Reid; Xzavion Kelly; Shemar Batiste; Lamar Batiste and Baxter Montgomery.
The city and Ms. Adams recognized Green Team members for their efforts to bring awareness to recycling in addition to improving the well-being of the community around them. The Green Team completed two successful campaigns to collect recyclable materials including a very successful club launch this spring thanks to the efforts of Ms. Samantha Thompson, the group's staff advisor.
