Answer: IMANI VICTORIES!

Our whiz kids earned top honors at the 2009 ACSI Math Olympics. Students qualified to compete at the Math Olympics based on scores from an exam disseminated to schools by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The exams tested either computation skills or reasoning ability, and students were permitted to take only one test. Our pupils were among a select few who qualified to participate in the event.

Thanks to challenging curricula that includes Kumon, Accelerated Math and Reasoning Mind as well as dedicated, competent instruction from math teachers Ms. Krista Harris and Ms. Mallory Smith, our students aced the test!

Make no mistake, competition was steep, but our fourth and fifth graders rose to the occasion and set the curve!

Overall results from the Math Olympics are:

4th Grade
1st Place - Maegan Hollins (Superior rating in Computation)

2nd Place - Erica Smith (Excellent rating in Computation)

2nd Place - Grant Gordon (Excellent rating in Reasoning)

5th Grade

2nd Place - Leah Hampton (Computation)

3rd Place - Aleah Booker (Reasoning)

5th Place - Jonathan Lord (Reasoning)
