Grammy Winning Performer Erykah Badu Gives Voice For Imani!

Legendary soul singer and Dallas native Erykah Badu is using her Texas-sized clout to benefit The Imani School with a massive concert this spring.

The singer/songwriter  is a critically acclaimed artist, Grammy-award winner and, most importantly, an activist who seeks to improve her community.  More than a decade into her successful career, Badu has gained a multitude of loyal fans. On March 6, her fans are eagerly awaiting to experience her heralded live show in Houston.

Proceeds from the concert will go to The Imani School to help us fulfill our mission to increase technology in the classroom. An alumna of Booker T. Washington Performing Arts School and lone financial backer of the Black Forest Theater located in South Dallas where she was raised, Badu is no stranger to supporting education or the arts. The Imani family is thrilled that Badu not only believes in our mission but also has chosen to support it. While in Houston, Badu plans to tour the campus. During her visit, Badu is sure to learn what the “Imani Way” is and why we have successfully prepared African American children for high school and beyond for 20 years!
