The Imani Angels Win It All!!
On November 29, 2008 the Imani School Competed in the 26th Annual Ralph Cooper Stars of the Future Boys Middle School Basketball Tournament. The Tournament is invitation only and features the 16 top ranked middle school teams.
It was the first year that Imani competed in the tournament and the first time in tournament history that a first year team won the championship! Imani beat Westbury Christian in the first round 42-33. West Briar Middle School in the second round 38-23, E. O. Smith Middle School in the Semi-Finals 44-36 and Stevenson Middle School 49-48 in a nail biter Championship game. Imani
Eighth grader Kenneth Williams led all scorers in the tournament and was named Tournament MVP! Imani 8th grader Dedrick Basil was named Tournament Allstar for his performance. Congratulations Imani Angels for becoming one of the top ranked middle school boys basketball teams in the city!
