Chess Champion
On Saturday, February 2, 2008, Klein High School held their Winter Chess Open that consisted of around ten elementary, middle, and high schools from around the Houston area. For the first time in Imani School Chess history, Chess Team captain Jordan Lewis became the first Chess champion of the Imani School by placing 1st in his division at that tournament. Earlier in January, Jordan had earned a 10th place trophy at the Village School Chess tournament. Under the direction of Mr. Romero, the Imani School Chess Team is coming on strong and looks forward to the next tournament in April and their final one in May.
